Celebrating a well-lived life: Seth Darnell Day
By: Nicole Hart
Gone but not forgotten.
Azleites came together on July 20 to celebrate the 12th Annual Seth Darnell Day.
This day is to commemorate the impact that Darnell had on Azle during his time here.
Darnell battled cancer twice and died at the age of 19.
He lived a life of service, even being voted as “Most Giving” by his classmates.
And the last few months of his life were no different.
Darnell’s goal was to give something back and make Azle a better place to live. He formed the group “2010 United.”
What started as a group of seven grew to over 100 members – all serving the community.
Dr. Randall Mask said, “Everybody that witnessed Seth’s smile saw it get wider as the days ticked away.
“And even as he lost the use of his only leg, he didn’t seem to miss it much because I think God gave him angel wings – you just couldn’t see them because they were invisible.”
